Welcome back after half term everyone. Signs of Autumn are all around us as the leaves change colour and many trees start to lose their leaves. Squirrel Wood will be thinning out over the next few weeks as the leaves fall and wildlife will be preparing for the winter. Deciduous trees lose their leaves, unlike evergreens, such as holly, which keep their leaves all year round.
Our Forest School journey continues and more information can be seen about this in the entrance hall and below:
There were some really great suggestions for the name for our outdoor learning area. Thank you to everyone who handed their ideas in.
Our outdoor classroom area will now be called 'The Nest'.
This creates a feeling of nurture and safety.
Remember, a nest is where young birds grow and learn before becoming fledglings!
Well done to Henrietta Liversidge Cooke in Year 3. Henrietta made a fantastic poster about litter and helping our environment. She displayed it on the gatepost at her house for passers-by to read. Lots and lots of people have read Henrietta's poster and I am certain it will have made them think and want to look after our environment more.
The calendar for November is full of ideas to try new ways of doing things...
